Instruction

John is available for private instruction on Fiddle and Mandolin-family instruments. He teaches from his home in Nashville, TN, as well as online via Skype.

He works primarily with intermediate to advanced students, with an emphasis on listening and exploring each student's individual interests and style. Topics can include improvisation, composition, music theory, technique, tone development, diversifying playing within different musical genres, critical listening, live sound/effects for amplified string instruments, open discussions of musical philosophy, studio/stage development as a professional musician, and more…
